After a fun morning playing in the snow, the kids are back at school and I have a quite house again. I'm actually a bit sad about it. I kind of miss them. I'm wroking on stuff for Scrapfriends.us today and I thought that I would share some of the things that I done for them.

Well it finally happened! We've got snow... ok not much of it but it's enough for the kids to play! The district didn't close, but I decided to keep the kids home anyway. From what I hear, I'm not alone in my decission. See we usually get one snow a year and they close school for it, but not this time. Oh well! My kids got to play anyway!
Here are some pictures from this morning while it was still snowing. I think we had about an inch, maybe two by the time it stopped.
Can you see those snowflakes? They were HUGE!! The kids pretty much cleaned all the snow off the play gym and within an hour it was covered again.
Anna Claire loved building a baby snowman. While Jackson wished that Daddy was here, so they could play with this...
If you can't see it... that's a snowball with Daddy's name on it in Jackson's hand. (I put it in the freezer so Daddy can "get it" when he gets home).

The LSS grage sale was a huge hit! I am already pulling stuff for the next one. I was surprised at how fast the time went... it was over in a blink! So that was actually two weekends ago. This past weekend we spent at the ATA family tournament here in town.
Anna Claire and Jackson did a demonstration using the sward... they ROCKED it! I really think that our school did the best of all the ones there. And there wasn't as much down time with this tournament which ment we were done and on our way to a birthday party by 2.
That is Thomas and Anna Claire waiting for the tournament to start. We really only had about 45 minutes of time between the demonstration and the start of the tournament. They didn't have a huge opening thing either. Everyone bowed in at their assigned rings. I liked this much better, but was told that the April Tournament will be different since it's much bigger.

This is Anna Claire getting ready for her Forms. A form is a set of traditional movements that you learn. Each level gets longer and more advanced. She got second place in forms.
This is Anna Claire's wepons form. We decided to have some private lessons to build this form. She will use it for the rest of the year. She also placed second... oh and the wepon is called a Ssahng Jeol Bongs and she is using two of them at once.
This is Jackson begining his form. He got second as well.
This is Jackson's wepons form. He got 3rd place. I'm really proud of this little guy. He's 6 ya know and he competed with all 7 and 8 year olds!! He's really a little ninga... oh and he lead our schools demonstration!!
Let's talk sparing. Once you reach camo belt (notice the belt in the pictures above) you get to don your protective gear and fight. There are rules of course... no fist to the head, no low kicks... etc. Anna Claire placed 3rd in her division and Jackson beat an 8 year old for first place!!!
Here's Thomas (he's the guy on the right). You can see that you are completely covered up and padded. You really can't see but there is a clear face mask and you have a mouth piece. Thomas placed 1st in his form and 3rd in sparing. With my messed up thumb and a case of walking pnewmonia (sp) I only completed in form and placed thrid.
After the tournament we all went home for some rest! Thomas is a bit gimpy today and I'm just weak so we are cutting class tonight. But will be there on Tuesday- not such a big deal when you go daily.
Well I spent last night getting everything ready for the Scrapbook garage sale today. I've got two boxes full of stuff. Man do I hope that I come home with two empty boxes!! I priced everything really low... like a dollar. I want this stuff out of my house! LOL! We shall see if it works.

This layout was featured in the Technique Tuesday news letter. I LOVED being asked to work with them... they are my mostest favorite stamp company!!
And I'll end with this one. This layout is a remake of a circle journal page that I made. I was asked to make it for the Technique Tuesday catalog!!! What an honor! And now that the catalog is out I can share..

Anyone care to tell me where the week went? Well this weekend is opening weekend for hunting. Thomas left today for the cabin, so I'm offically a deer widow... it's funny how things seem to work while he's gone. I've got a TON of things to do this week. There is a tournament a week from Saturday that I would like to take the kids to see. I want them to participate in tournaments but I don't want them to be overwhemed. And Mom wants to spend a day with Anna Claire, next weekend might be the time to do it.
I got more time today to work on scrappy things! Here are two layouts I did tonight:
Gosh not sure where to start today. The whole time change thing still had me off balance. It's weird really... almost like I'm in some kind of jet lag. I don't like it I tell you!! Even with the weird off feeling I was able to get some scrapping in today. We are heading into deer season, and the days of me being a single parent. ;) The kids have promised me that they will help out more while Daddy is gone. And I promised them that they could play in my office while I tried to get some assigenments done. And it worked! LOL!
This week had been full of scrappy projects! With all the crafty things that I did for the party, assignments and just for me things I already feel like I've reached my quota. ;) Here are some of the most recent things.

It's so hard to believe that 8 years ago, I was begging Dr Andrews to let me attend Stephanie's birthday lunch and then check into the hospital to be induced. Well as history tells, I didn't get to attend that luncheon. I'm still sad about that, but I got the greatest gift I've ever been given... and that would be Anna Claire. Saturday night we held her birthday party, um... birthday production. We turned an average city park pavilion into a pirate cove. Our dark, foggy cove was the perfect back drop for the COOLEST party ever!
As each child arrived we had them decorate a pirate hat. Next it was off to get "dark eyes" and "scars". Then each child came to me to have their photo made. Capt'n Tom and his mate Mac taught the kids to sword fight and we hunted for treasure by breaking open not one but two pinata's. Each child was given a "pirate pouch" to hold their treasure and we finished off the night with cupcakes and singing. The only down side... I didn't get enough pictures. We were decorating right up until the children arrived, so I didn't really have any "down" time to grab those photos. But the memories and the comments from other parents and kids will stay with me forever.
This party was so over the top and so perfect!! But I could not have done this with out the help of a LOT of people. Pardon me for a second as I thank those people:
Dad and Thomas, thank you for being the BEST pirates... for teaching the kids how to be pirates and taking them on in a sword fight.
Dad... thank you for making the swords!! They were a HUGE hit (pardon the pun) and I had to chase them down... the kids all wanted to take them home.
Mom and Bill, gosh where to start... Mom thank you for "borrowing" black paper from the school. (I have the rest of the roll to bring back to you). And helping me cut out pirate hats. I can't begin to tell you how that helped. Bill... I'm not sure how the hot dogs would have been cooked if it wasn't for you and Jerry!!
Sherry, thank you for taking the pirate hat craft and getting everyone decked out in their pirate gear! I remember looking over at one point and it seemed that all the little ones were in your corner!
Grannie... you will forever be our face painter!! The kids looked WONDERFUL!
Jerry, like I said to Bill... thank you for being co grill masters! We got everyone fed and kept them happy!
And to Uncle Will, thank you for being there and being able to run back to the house for camera batteries!! two words for you... LIFE SAVOR!
As I think back on the party, there is only one thing that I would change. I would remember that I need to snap a few pictures before everyone arrives, and get pictures of my pirate helpers before the party is over. Everything else was PERFECT! And I couldn't have pulled off this production without you.
